My Life

I'm starting out on a voyage,
With heart full and head held high,
To sail the ocean, whether calm or rough,
Out under heaven's blue sky.
The voyage will be long and weary, I know,
But I hope many bright stars will appear.
So I'll sail my ship through calm or strife
With scarce a thought of fear.
I'll stay not here in this quiet place,
Where small ripples blow gently by,
But out on the deep, on the stormy sea,
There, out there, will be I.

Reason # 541 - Why teaching might not be for me...

Yes, I got pink eye last month in BOTH EYES!!! It was pretty awful, I'm not gonna lie. Reasons 1-540 of why teaching might not be for me are pretty similar (strep throat, throwing up - both watching my students do it about 7 or 8 times this year, and me doing it - coughing through the entire month of October, etc., etc., etc.) I'm pretty sure I have been sick this school year more than I've been healthy!

I told the women who work in the office that if next year is like this I will be done. No more! They both laughed. I'm not sure if I was joking or not...

Was this your first year teaching? If it is, then next year should be better. Your first year is always the worst when it comes to getting sick. But the next year is better and by the 3rd and 4th year your immune system is so built up that you hardly ever get sick. At least that was the way it's been with me. Good Luck!!

Yeah, I got the chicken pox (for the second time) during my first (and last) year of teaching. Sorry about that!

It is all from "poo dust" seriously... pink eye began with someone farting on someone else's face! I know this from a movie my hubby (your bro) laughs hysterically at! Did that make you feel better? :)

yeah....really sorry about all that. You should get hazard pay for your job. :) Maybe if you moved out here to LA you wouldn't get sick all the time??

Kimmy,
That looks pretty nasty! At least you get a reprieve for the summer. If Amber is right, I wonder who was farting on your face!! :-)
