Most of the pictures are of Spring Break when Mom and Dad came to visit, and then I went up to Connecticut to visit Jill and Mark and Baby Ben.
Hope you enjoy!
To celebrate Mom and Dad's 40th Anniversary last August, they have been doing 40 fun things. Mom wanted to make sure to do something with all of her kids. But I have a feeling she would have found any excuse to visit all of us! :) Mom has always wanted to see the cherry blossoms, and luckily the blossoms were in full bloom when Mom and Dad came out. They really couldn't have timed it more perfectly. Unfortunately the weather was pretty cold the whole time that they were here. But we still had a lot of fun!

Ahhh, Tender!

It was a little strange to read a plaque about something I was a part of. I mean, the storm really was huge in February, but I wasn't expecting to see a stump of a tree set up as a memorial to it!
We also got to go to the National Kite Festival! I have never seen anything like it. Okay, that's actually a lie. When we were on Tienanmen Square in China there were also a lot of kites, and it was quite the sight. But this was pretty incredible. There were thousands of people and SO many kites right on the National Mall. It's definitely something that everyone should see at least once in their lives!

We also visited some of the other monuments and sights of D.C.
This is up at the Air Force Memorial

I also have to take a moment to pay tribute to AAA. They are AMAZING!!! We got a flat tire in the rental car, and of course the (insert inappropriate word here) rental people wouldn't send someone so we called AAA. They came in about 10 minutes, which saved us, and made it possible to still make it to The Dairy Godmother to get our custards! :) THANKS AAA!!!
Mom and Dad were great about helping me with a lot of other things, including getting a car (see previous post). All in all it was a great start to my Spring Break.
After Mom and Dad left I took a bus up to New York and met Jill and Little Ben for a day in the City. The bus was great, but a little sketch..when we made it to Baltimore they cut the engine and proceeded to wash the bus...
WEIRD!

Jill, Ben and I went to the Met and walked around for a while. It was the first time I've been there and I was pretty impressed. It's HUGE!

The rest of the weekend was great! We hiked around a bit, and ate some YUMMY seafood. We also colored Easter Eggs, which I'm sure Ben loved...or he would have if he really understood what was going on!

We also walked around Yale for a while and I found my tombstone...just sayin'

I definitely fell in love with my Little Ben all over again. But let's be honest. Who could resist this happy face!?
He loves sitting on his little rocking chair and reading. It's pretty funny to watch him try to get in the chair with his book. But he eventually figures it out!
When I got home I still had a day of holiday. Yes, I did get "Easter Monday" off. (I've never even heard of Easter Monday until I moved out here. But whatever.)I decided to take my new baby out for a road trip all by myself! I drove out to Skyline Drive in the Shenandoahs and had a great time to myself!
The scenery was beautiful...
Then it was back to school.Luckily the azaleas started coming out in full force! I have never seen blossoms to match the beauty of a Washington D.C. spring. It really is incredible!
I wish I had taken more pictures of them, but this will have to do.A couple of weeks later Dad came out for training in Tysons Corner and we got to go up to Great Falls. I've never been up there, but it was fun to be able to hike around a bit. I guess I'll have to explore that a bit more soon.
April ended with a huge auction for my school. This is the biggest fundraiser for the school, and is a pretty big affair. So I had to go out and buy a new dress... :) And Charity was nice enough to do my hair. It ended up being a really fun night, and let's be honest, who doesn't like to dress up every now and then!?

April was a great month, full of adventures! Sorry that I'm so far behind on this blogging thing, but hopefully I'll start being a little more faithful about it, and then we won't have to go through a novel on each post!
Here's to a great May (that's already over half way over!)...

You are one smokin' kindergarten teacher! Its good to hear you're doing well. Love you.
Love your new dress! And the cherry blossoms look like snow! And I'm glad to see you are still alive. :) AND I'm going to be in UT a bit this summer. Are you coming home? Maybe we will cross paths.....let me know when/if you're coming.
and ps, that sweet baby Dax Gardner is quite possibly the most beautiful baby I've ever seen. For reals. I have two beautiful babies myself, but he might take the cake. He seriously is so beautiful. He can marry my Natalie and they will have lovely children. :)
What a fun month. You look gorgeous and happy- fabulous! Miss you.
